319 Complaints were registered on the 1st day

On June 5 in recognition of World Environment Day, the BMC unveiled a special WhatsApp chatbot number—8169681697—to address citizen complaints about rubbish in public spaces.

Through this platform, citizens will be able to express concerns or opinions about garbage management.

After the launch, on the first day (Thursday) of the operation of a WhatsApp number introduced by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde a day earlier for complaints regarding debris, the BMC got 319 complaints.

The civic organisation stated it had previously answered 179 concerns and would do so shortly for the remaining 78. According to that, 57 complaints had nothing to do with debris.
