Western Railways will run two special trains between Mumbai, Maharashtra, and Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on January 25 as well as 26, the dates of Coldplay’s concert, which is expected to gather thousands of fans.
The well-known British rock band, i.e Coldplay is going to play three shows at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21. Two more shows are going to be held on January 25 and 26 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
A lot of people who wants to attend Coldplay concerts are in search for an alternative because plane tickets are going up. And there is going to be a lot of relief from the two special trains that run between Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

The DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai will host Coldplay performances on January 18, 19, and 21. The event organizers are offering Full Tariff Rate (FTR) suburban hotels for the visitors.
“The suburban locals booked as FTR will be operated between Goregaon and Nerul station in Navi Mumbai on all three days of the Coldplay concert. The suburban trains will depart from Goregaon at 2 pm on January 18 and 19, and reach Nerul at 3.23 pm via Wadala road station. They will depart from Nerul at 11.04 pm and reach Goregaon little after midnight at 12.30 am,” a report quoted an official.
- A suburban local train is expected to leave at 2:50 PM on January 21 and reach Nerul at 6:18 PM. On the way back, it will depart Nerul at 10:50 PM and arrive in Goregaon at 12:15 AM, just after midnight.
- According to officials, “the scheduled suburban locals will stop only at Bandra, Andheri, Wadala Road, Chembur, and Jainagar stations in both directions.”
A Western Railway official stated that “tickets for the special train are being booked through Book My Show”. It’s unclear, though, if the general public will be able to board these trains or if only those with tickets are going to be allowed to take the transport.

Check timing and the routes for Ahmedabad
- Both the trains will depart from Bandra Terminus at 6:15am and reach Ahmedabad at 2pm on January 25 and at 1pm on January 26. On the return leg, the trains will leave from Ahmedabad the next day at 1:40am and arrive at Bandra Terminus at 8:40am,” he said.
- “The second train will depart on January 27 at 00:50 am and arrive here at 8:30 am,” the official added.
- “These trains will halt at Borivali, Vapi, Udhna, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara and Gertapur in both directions,” the official said.
These authorities stated that if Coldplay’s popularity and the railroads’ previous experience with the cricket world cup were any indication, even these two “winter specials” are not going to be enough.
“Though the two trains are “winter specials” as per the directive of the Railway Board, these are being operated to clear the extra rush of passengers in view of the Coldplay concerts on January 25 and 26 at Narendra Modi stadium,” officials stated.
