Imagine speeding across India’s longest sea bridge without worrying about fuel or food. And that’s exactly what’s coming to Navi Mumbai!
Travel Just Got Even Better: Here’s What’s New At Atal Setu
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced a plan to add much-needed amenities to the iconic Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu by introducing a fuel station and food plaza. Soon, the fuel station and food plaza will be ready for the commuters at the Jasai end of this 21.8-kilometer stretch of marvel.
This solution solves one of the biggest problems — where motorists could refuel or grab a bite while traversing the bridge over the sea that connects Mumbai and Navi Mumbai in 12 minutes.
When and What to Expect:
The MMRDA has stated that private companies are already working to make these facilities a reality. Construction is projected to begin in October 2024, with facilities opening within 3–6 months of construction.
There will be these conveniently placed stops on either side of the bridge, so you can stop for fuel and food whether you’re going into Mumbai or out of it.
Commuters Rejoice:
Soon there will be no more running out of fuel or going hungry before reaching your destination. These new facilities are creating a safer, smoother, and more enjoyable travel experience.
So, with over 22,000 vehicles traversing the bridge daily, this development is a game changer — it’s not just about convenience; it’s about ensuring every visit is stress-free and comfortable.
Atal Setu — built at a mind-boggling ₹17,843 crore — is transformational connectivity for Mumbai. But now, it’s poised to become more than just a time-saver — it is becoming a go-to destination for commuters and adventurers alike.
Whether you’re a daily traveller or just searching for a reason to experience the bridge, these new offerings give you plenty of reasons to make the trip.
