The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has launched its premium bus service on a new route between Mumbai and Thane.
The service started on March 1, and it will help people traveling between these two points more comfortably and conveniently. Here are the key details about this new bus service:
Route and Frequency:
The premium bus service will run from the Mumbai airport in Andheri (West) to the Cadbury Junction in Thane.
Presently, 26 premium buses are being operated on this route, and the number will be increased further.
The frequency of these buses will be every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes during non-peak hours.
Features:
The premium bus service is different from other bus services in Mumbai because it does not have designated stops.
Passengers need to mark their pickup and drop-off spots, and the bus will only stop at those locations.
This means faster and more efficient travel and saves time for passengers. Additionally, the passenger can book their ticket in advance through the ‘Chalo App.’
No Standing Allowed:
To ensure passenger comfort, standing while traveling is not allowed in these premium buses.
Passengers must take a seat, and the bus will only allow for the number of passengers that match the number of available seats.
Other Premium Buses:
Apart from the Mumbai-Thane route, BEST also runs premium buses on other routes. The table below lists the other routes and bus numbers.
With the introduction of this new premium bus service, traveling between Mumbai and Thane will become much easier and more comfortable.
Passengers will have the convenience of booking their seats in advance, and the absence of designated stops will help save time.
Additionally, the no-standing rule will ensure that passengers can have a comfortable ride throughout their journey.
The expansion of the service to other routes shows that BEST is committed to improving the commuting experience for its passengers.
