One of India’s top telecom firms, Bharti Airtel, has revealed that after just seven months of the country’s introduction to 5G services, it has added more than 2 million 5G subscribers in Mumbai. With the service available in the majority of locations, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, and Mira Bhayandar, Mumbai is the first city in India to have extensive 5G coverage, making this accomplishment a significant milestone for the company.
The acceptance of the company’s 5G services in the city, in the opinion of Vibhor Gupta, CEO of Bharti Airtel’s Mumbai operations, shows that customers are always developing and demanding a fantastic experience. Gupta added that Airtel’s goal is to provide smooth, high-speed connectivity to its consumers in order to enhance their overall experience.
Businesses in bustling commercial areas like BKC, Nariman Point, and Lower Parel can take use of the carrier’s 5G Plus service for high-speed, seamless connectivity. In order to provide clients with seamless network connectivity throughout their daily commute, it is also available at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), Mumbai Metro line, Mumbai Monorail, and all railway stations across the Western Line, Central Line, and Harbour lines. Customers may also take advantage of lightning-fast 5G connections while visiting iconic destinations in the city, like the Gateway of India, Colaba Causeway, Marine Drive, Bandra-Worli Sea-link, Juhu Beach, and others.
Bharti Airtel has connected residential areas and educational institutions throughout the city, including the University of Mumbai, IIT Bombay, and TISS, in addition to connecting companies and visitors.
Airtel’s 5G service is available in over 3,500 cities and towns across India, and the company just topped 10 million unique users on its national 5G network. By September 2023, Airtel wants to have 5G in all major cities and rural areas.
With initiatives like the first operational 5G network in Hyderabad, the first private 5G network at the BOSCH facility in Bengaluru, and a collaboration with Mahindra & Mahindra to establish India’s first 5G-enabled auto manufacturing unit in Chakan, Bharti Airtel has been at the forefront of 5G innovation in India.
