“The newly formed international-standard swimming pool constructed by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation in the Gilbert Hill neighbourhood of Andheri West will be recognised as the “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Swimming Pool,” according to an announcement made on Sunday by Suburban District Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha.
He was giving a speech at the swimming pool’s opening ceremony in Andheri’s Gilbert Hill neighbourhood. Lodha added that this swimming pool would be turned into a popular Mumbai tourist destination. He recommended to the government that a gymnasium be built in the swimming pool’s open area and that women be given higher priority in the registration process for swimming pool memberships. In the upcoming month, the swimming pools near Kondivita in Worli, Vikhroli, and Andheri will be finished. Deputy Commissioner Kishore Gandhi said that after that, in a couple of days, citizens would have the ability to register members there.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has built an overall total of nine swimming pools in the city and suburbs. Gilbert Hill has added the water tank to it. 2750 members will be eligible to sign up for their membership online as of Sunday, when the swimming pool in Andheri’s membership enrollment procedure officially began.
Typically, a membership registration fee of INR 8,410 per year and INR 4,370 for seniors, people with disabilities, and students under the age of 15 are assessed. The membership fee for the lake will cost INR 6,390 for women, which is a reduction of 25%.
Visitors to the website, https://swimmingpool.mcgm.gov.in/, can sign up to become members. This pool will be accessible to members beginning on October 1, after registration is complete.
On September 3, an online registration procedure for pool membership opened (see box). The civic organisation is only taking in 2,750 members, who will receive a year of registration. The pool will be accessible in October 2023, after the membership process is complete.
