Chandrayaan-3 Successfully Lands on the Moon: India’s third lunar mission has come a long way from its July launch to its successful moon landing.

Indians all around the nation are celebrating for this historical moment! The happiness and joy are immeasurable at the moment for Indians.

Prime minister Narendra Modi wrote, ” Historic day for India’s space sector. Congratulations to @isro for the remarkable success of Chandrayan-3 Lunar mission”

Around 6:04 p.m. today, ISRO’s Vikram Lander Module touched down on the moon. It will then let go of the Pragyan rover. On the final landing leg, the mission’s true test began.

ISRO started the Automatic Landing Sequence (ALS) 20 minutes before landing. It allowed the Vikram LM to take control and use its internal computers along with logic to locate a suitable landing place on the lunar surface.

According to experts, “the last 15 to 20 minutes of the mission, when Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander completed its soft landing, were extremely important for the project’s success”.

Because of the failure of India’s second lunar mission in the final 20 minutes before landing, ISRO took extra precautions this time around. Many refer to the time as “20 to 17 minutes of terror” because of the tremendous risk to the spacecraft just before the moon landing.

The entire operation became autonomous during this stage, where the Vikram lander was required to start its own engines at the appropriate times and altitudes.

What the ISRO Director said before the mission

Before the mission, the ISRO Director said, “Scientists will concentrate on slowing the spacecraft’s speed above the lunar surface”, according to Nilesh Desai, director of the ISRO Space Applications Centre.

“The landing will start at 06:04 IST. We’ll upload the commands a day beforehand. We’ll examine the telemetry signal and take the moon’s circumstances into account. If any health metric is incorrect, we will postpone the flight until August 27 and, assuming everything is in order, we will attempt to land on that day,” he added.

Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos applauded the mission

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, and Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, support India’s Chandrayaan-3 moon project. Both have applauded India’s moon landing programme, and they are both well-known space aficionados.

“Get a root for India! Good luck, Chandrayaan-3,” wrote Bezos in a message on the ISRO’s post about its mission on Instagram’s Threads platform.

Indians from all around the nation and the world prayed for Chandrayaan-3.at this moment.
