An intense argument at a Mumbai platform on Sunday night resulted in a horrific incident. As evidenced by footage taken at the Sion Railway station, Dinesh Rathod (age 26), got smacked and attacked by a couple following an argument at around 9:15 in the evening.
Internet users are going crazy over this recent clip showing a man being run over by a moving train after he had been attacked by a couple at Mumbai’s Sion Railway station.
Avinash Mane (31) along with Sheetal Mane (30) have been recognised as the responsible couple, according to the police, who further stated that the incident occurred on August 13 at around 9 at night on platform no.1 of the Sion train station when both of them was going home.
The couple attacked Dinesh when he accidently bumped into Sheetal at Sion railway station, which caused him to fall to the ground on the railway track, according to the police. He was later run over by a fast train.
How did this happen?
According to sources, the incident happened on the night of Sunday when 26-year-old Dinesh Rathod subsequently fell following an argument with Avinash Mane and his wife Sheetal Mane grew violent when the two began verbally assaulting Dinesh.
Dinesh is said to have attempted to touch Seetal Mane in an inappropriate manner, and during a heated argument, she began striking him using an umbrella that she was holding. Dinesh got a slap from Avinash, which caused him to lose his balance and fall on the railroad tracks. Dinesh remained lying on the railway tracks and was the focus of attention from the crowd as the train came near.
Police said that despite knowing that Rathod would be crushed by a train and killed, the pair refused to help him in getting on the platform. At the Dadar Police Station, the accused has been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder and common purpose under the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Even waving her umbrella, which she had previously used to abuse the victim, Sheetal attempted to stop the moving train. Rathod was attempting to get up onto the platform when the approaching train crushed him just a few seconds later.
The event has sparked criticism on social media
Social media users expressed anger about the occurrence, with some calling for harsh punishment against the pair from officials while others criticised the railway station’s lack of security safeguards.

The couple who reside in Mankhurd, were taken into custody by the Dadar railway police on Tuesday after they were said to be slapping and forcing the victim, Dinesh Rathod, into the railway track and killing him.
