Tenders for Kalyan-Taloja Metro 12 Line Floated: Here’s What You Need to Know

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) recently floated tenders for the construction of the Kalyan-Taloja Metro 12 line. 

On 15th February, CM Eknath Shinde announced a fund allocation for this project of Rs 1521 crores.

This is a major boost for the region’s infrastructure, as the project is expected to boost much-needed transport in the area.

The Kalyan-Taloja Metro 12 line is a proposed metro line in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region of Maharashtra, India. 

The line will connect the city of Kalyan in the north to Taloja in the south, passing through several other cities and suburbs, including Dombivli, Ambernath, and Ulwe.

The Kalyan-Taloja Metro 12 line is being developed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). 

Kalyan-Taloja Metro Line 12 will be linked with Metro Line 5, work expected to start soon. APMC Market Kalyan will serve as an interchange for Metro Line 12, popularly known as the Kalyan-Taloja line.

The Kalyan Taloja Metro Line 12 will be elevated whole. It will be 20.07 kilometres long and will feature 17 stations.

The distance covered by the corridor will be 20.75 kilometers, with a total of 17 stations. 

The stations proposed for this route include APMC Kalyan, Ganesh Nagar, Pisawali Gaon, Golvali, Dombivli MIDC, Sa Gaon, Sonar Pada, Manpada, Hadutane, Kole Gaon, Nilje Gaon, Wadavali, Bale, Vaklan, Turbhe, Pisawe Depot, Pisawe, and Taloja.

The MMRDA has recently floated tenders for the construction of the Kalyan-Taloja Metro 12 line.

The tenders cover government work, including the design and construction of viaducts, stations, depots, and other related facilities. The project cost is estimated at Rs 5494 crore. 

The tenders are divided into seven components, each covering a specific project phase. The package includes the construction of elevated corridors, stations, and storage facilities, among others.

The Kalyan-Taloja Metro 12 line is a major development for regional infrastructure, as it will provide a much-needed boost to transport in the region. 

The project will also provide a convenient and safe mode of transportation for passengers, which is expected to encourage more people to use public transportation. 

This will reduce traffic congestion, which is a major problem in the area.
