Over 7,000 commuters use the BEST Premium bus service, commonly known as Chalo Bus, every day since it began operating in April of this year. The decision to add more lines is being made to fulfil commuter demand and enhance the current public transport alternatives. During peak hours, all buses are air-conditioned and run frequently, increasing passenger convenience.
The BEST Chalo App allows users to reserve confirmed seats, and the bus will only stop if a reservation has been made, resulting in shorter journey times and fewer stops. On these buses, standing is not allowed during the ride.
BEST plans to introduce three additional new lines from Kharghar to Andheri, Belapur to Andheri, and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in the near future.
The choice to establish more lines was made in direct reaction to Mumbai’s growing need for better public transport options.
The route from Kharghar to BKC, designated as Route number S-114, is the newest addition to the premium bus network and is scheduled to start operating on Friday. In the morning rush hour, buses on this route will run from Kharghar between 7 and 8:30 am and from BKC in the evening between 5 and 6:30 pm.
According to Chandra, BEST now has 100 premium buses, 60 of which are in use. Following the conclusion of relevant processes including registration and trials, the remaining 40 buses will be introduced gradually over the course of the following two weeks. By the end of this month, another 44 premium buses are also anticipated.
The new route ticket is Rs.178, and it runs every 15 minutes between BKC and Kharghar.
The Chalo App is giving new customers a welcome offer to entice them to try out the premium bus service. Two rides to BKC are available to commuters for just INR 90. According to a BEST representative, the goal of this project is to encourage more passengers to use the premium bus service and enjoy its many advantages.
Simply touch on Chalo Bus on the BEST Chalo App after downloading it. To get the route list with the bus schedule, enter the source and destination. Pick the bus of your choosing based on the time of travel, and secure a seat by paying per ride or with a long-term plan.
When a seat is reserved, it appears on the app’s home screen in the “Upcoming Reserved Trips” area. To confirm your reservation, select “Tap to Board” and provide your booking ID. After that, relax and take it easy!
