The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has chosen the Dahisar-Bhayander Bridge project in Mumbai for L&T Construction’s Transportation Infrastructure business unit. The project entails the construction of a 4.5-kilometre-long bridge between Dahisar and Bhayander that would significantly cut the 45-minute travel time between the two locations.
For easy entry and exit, the bridge will have two independent carriageways as well as a multi-level junction at both Dahisar and Bhayander. The project will also incorporate two huge navigational spans over the creek. In the meantime, L&T is working on two packages for the Mumbai Coastal Road projects, which were also commissioned by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM).
However, at 10 a.m. on the BSE, shares were down 0.65% to Rs 3,002.20.
On Tuesday, L&T announced that one of its subsidiaries had been awarded a ‘major’ contract for the construction of a bridge in Mumbai.
“L&T Construction’s transport infrastructure business vertical has been awarded the Dahisar-Bhayander Bridge project in Mumbai”, according to a statement.

For MCGM, the company is already completing two folders of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project.
