In the class X examination results released on Friday by the Maharashtra Board, girls once again outperformed males due to a higher success rate.
The overall pass percentage for the state Secondary School Certificate (SSC) class X examination was 88.74%.
According to Gangadhar Mahmane, chairman of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, 91.46% of girls and 86.51% of boys overall passed the exams.
Girls did better in the class XII exams administered by the Maharashtra State Board, the results of which were released last month. Girls had a pass percentage of 90.50%, while boys had a pass percentage of 83.46%.
According to Mahmane, the Konkan division had a pass rate of 96.18% in the class X exams, while Nagpur division had a pass rate of 83.67%.
In addition, the Kolhapur division had a pass rate of 93.59, followed by those Pune (91.95), Mumbai (90.09), Aurangabad (88.15), Nashik (87.76), Latur (85.22), and Amaravati (84.35).
The class X tests were taken in March of this year, and a total of 16,50,499 pupils registered, 16,44,016 showed up, and 14,58,855 passed.
