Authorities located the caller’s residence in the Malvani area and tracked him down, whereupon Ahmed was caught. As of right now, a case has been filed under the applicable part of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), that includes 506-II. The most recent call turned out to be from Malwani. The Malwani police subsequently filed a FIR and deployed a team to the caller’s location. However, he wasn’t at the house.

The Mumbai Crime Branch began an investigation when the caller disclosed significant details. Officials from the crime branch’s units 8, 9, and 10 all began tracking the caller’s cell phone number. The accused continued to move throughout this time and arrived early on Sunday at the CSMI Airport. Under the direction of DCP Raj Tilak Roshan, a team from crime branch unit 10, which was under the command of senior inspector Deepak Sawant immediately entered the area and caught the suspect.

The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested a 43 year old man on early Sunday who has been reported to have initiated 79 hoax calls to the police from various areas of India over a period of five months.

Ahmed had contacted the Mumbai Police control room 79 times in the previous five months, bringing up a variety of complaints and issues, it was discovered after additional investigation by the police. Online reports state that this past Saturday the suspect called the police once more and said that a 100 kilo bomb was hidden in Mumbai.

According to police sources, Ahmed was also arrested by the Delhi Police in 2018 after initiating one such hoax call.

“Ahmed reportedly called the Mumbai Police control centre on Saturday night and informed them that a 100 kg bomb had been planted in Mumbai. The suspect was taken into custody at his residence in Mumbai’s Melvani surrounding area” an official stated.

According to the reports, the accused is mentally ill. This matter now requires a thorough enquiry.

Police will examine him to see if he currently has a mental illness. Rukhsar claimed that “bada boss” (big boss) stored 100 kg of bombs at a particular location in Mumbai and was going to blow up the city in his most recent calls to the Mumbai Police control centre on Saturday. He stated that “Ambani” promised him money in another call.

The Control Room receives numerous calls of similar type. Any potential threat is treated seriously, and resources are used to check the caller’s legitimacy and search the targeted area, according to a senior police official.

The Malwani police later received custody of him after receiving the FIR from them, which they had filed. The report also cited an official saying that further inquiries are under way.
