MMRDA seeks bids for Mumbai Metro Line 6’s purchase of 108 coaches

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced a call for bids to purchase 108 standard gauge cars (coaches) for Metro Line 6, which connects Andheri’s Swami Samarth Nagar to the Vikhroli Eastern Motorway.

An organization was sought after by the MMRDA to design, produce, supply, test, and commission these numerous coaches for the elevated Metro Line 6. The aforementioned organization will also be in charge of organizing training for driving these metro trains.  Taxes not included, the projected total cost for hiring the coaches and paying for training is roughly Rs. 989.87 crores. The length of the contract is 159 weeks. The 15.31-km line will travel through Jogeshwari, WEH, and Powai as it travels from Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli.

This route connects the Western Express and Eastern Express Highways and is entirely elevated.

The Metro Line 6 project, with a roughly Rs 6,700 crore expenditure, is anticipated to be finished within the next three years. The network will also incorporate four more metro lines. This includes the Mumbai Metro’s Line 2A and Line 7, all of which are now in use.
