The Mumbai Metro5 is about to complete its construction work because almost 74% has been completed. To make the construction process smoother, the elements used in construction were pre-casted. A total of 1098 parts or elements were erected while construction with the help of cranes and other similar machines. These elements are materials to be used either directly in the construction or as an assistance element to construction.
Afterwards, precast elements must be erected in the required site, and it’s a challenging process. Erecting the elements requires the crane, hydraulic machine, and certain other external support to be launched in the perfect place in the perfect way.
Apart from this, the viaduct part is also at the peak of its construction because almost 80% has been completed.

Challenges during the construction of Metro 5
- As we all know, construction work requires crane manoeuvring. Manoeuvring of the crane safely during construction was one of the challenges faced by the construction and managing team of Mumbai Metro5. This challenge was mainly faced at the site of Dhamankar Naka Metro Station.
- Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) found the demolition quite challenging. However, the families or individuals who got affected because of the demolition drive, compensation was provided to them. The compensation to affected families was provided through the Mumbai Urban Transport Project policy.
