Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently paid a visit to the construction site, expressing their confidence in its timely completion and assuring the public that the airport will commence operations by 2024.

A Gift to Mumbai and Navi Mumbai
Chief Minister Shinde, beaming with pride, referred to the NMIA as a special “gift” to the people of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. With the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) experiencing congestion, the new airport aims to alleviate this issue while igniting economic growth in the region.
Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis shared Shinde’s enthusiasm and assured everyone that the NMIA would be nothing short of world-class. It is expected to handle a staggering 90 million passengers annually, providing seamless connectivity through the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), the coastal road, and the metro system.
