Navi Mumbai: Five people got badly injured after falling from the wonders park joyride

There are five people who got injured during their umbrella-shaped joyride at the newly started Wonders Park in Nerul on 3rd of June 2023.

According to Nerul police, four of the injured people were rushed to the neighbouring Apollo Hospital, where they were found critically hurt, while others received minor injuries.

Recently the Maharashtian CM Eknath Shinde inaugurated the Neruls wonders park. The NMMC spent more than 28 crore rupees on refurbishing the amusement park.

The injured were wearing a safety harness which turned out to be worn around 10 pm. Nerul police reached the amusement park to investigate the scenario.

The police informed the media that one of the injured people suffered a major fracture. This incident raised safety concerns in the amusement park. The amusement park was reopened on may 30 by Eknath Shinde after three years of renovation of the amusement park.

While the people criticised the decision of spending this much amount over an amusement park instead of that the government could have used the taxpayers money to channelise other sectors which require development.

The officials at the amusement park were not able to comment on the situation that took place in the park and preferred to keep mum in front of the media. Wonders park also delayed its opening as to appoints netas for its reopening after the renovation.

The wonders park increased its area and added more amenities which can enhance the entertainment and enjoyment.  Also The facelift includes an audio-visual system and a new night musical fountain laser show is also added with additional rides.

With this the amusement park experienced hefty amounts of entry fees which residents have expressed displeasure over. 

The revised charges for children aged between 5 to 12 are 40 rupees while for people aged above 12 is 50 rupees. 

Activist Rajeev Mishra said that “Safety measures were lacking at the park and bigger disasters are waiting to happen.”
