On September 1 in Vavanje, a woman was allegedly beaten up to the point that she was almost dead. He assaulted her and then went on beating her.
He abused her just because she had been washing her own clothes outside and some of the water splashed in the accused neighbour’s home, and he directly entered her house and proceeded to assault and beat her.
According to a police officer, “a case has been opened depending on the 35-year-old woman’s allegation under sections 323 (voluntarily causing harm), 509 (insulting a woman’s modesty), and 452 (home trespass after preparing for harm, assault, or wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code”.
“A 44-year-old man has been charged with a crime for allegedly assaulting a woman from his area in Navi Mumbai”, according to police.
According to him, “the incident happened on September 1 in the Vavanje neighbourhood of Panvel when the woman washed her clothes outside and the water splashed into the accused’s house next door”.
He claimed that the accused, Dhanraj Mhatre, ultimately went to the woman’s house and assaulted and beat her, stating that the victim was taken to the hospital as a result of the incident.
The 44-year-old man has been identified as Dhanraj Mhatre and has been taken into police custody for investigation and inquiry.
Further investigation is underway.
