Today, five new Vande Bharat Express trains will be ceremoniously and virtually flagged off from Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal’s RKamlapati Railway Station.
The PM, who is expected to travel to Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, announced on Twitter on 26th June, “I will be in Bhopal tomorrow, 27th June to take part in two programmes. First, 5 Vande Bharat trains would be flagged off at a programme in Rani Kamalapati Railway Station. These trains will improve connectivity in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Bihar and Jharkhand.”
The Department of Railways declared the start of five Vande Bharat Express trains on the same day via its official Twitter account, despite the Ministry of Railways not yet making an official notification regarding the inauguration.
According to reports, on Tuesday at around 10:30 AM, the Prime Minister would attend a public event organised at Bhopal’s Rani Kamalapati Railway Station.
Rani Kamalapati (Bhopal)-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express; Khajuraho-Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express; Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express; Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express; and Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express are the five new routes on which the semi-high-speed trains will run. India would thereafter have a total of 23 blue-white, semi-high-speed trains.
On the other hand, according to Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Prime Minister’s visit to Lalpur and Pakaria in the Shahdol region has been delayed due to the possibility of heavy rain on Tuesday. But his Bhopal show has not been postponed.
The Vande Bharat Express trains have contemporary amenities like plush seats, modern safety features, and enhanced passenger services. These trains will enable faster connectivity and shorten travel distances between cities because of their moderate running speeds.
The Madhya Pradesh state’s central region (Bhopal) and the Mahakaushal region (Jabalpur) will be connected by the Rani Kamalapati-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express.
The enhanced connection will also assist tourism destinations like Bheraghat, Pachmarhi, and Satpura, among others, claims a statement from the Prime Minister’s office. Additionally, according to IT, the train will travel around 30 minutes more quickly than the current quickest train along the route.
According to the PMO, the Khajuraho-Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express will enhance the connection between the Malwa (Indore) and Bundelkhand (Khajuraho) regions and the Central region (Bhopal).
The inaugural Vande Bharat Express in Goa would run between Madgaon (Goa) and Mumbai.
It will operate between Goa’s Madgaon station and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. Compared to the two places’ current fastest train, it will help save around one hour.
Dharwad, Hubballi, and Davangere, three significant Karnataka cities, will be connected to Bengaluru, the state’s capital, via the Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express.
The first Vande Bharat train for Jharkhand and Bihar will be the Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express.
According to the PMO, the railway will benefit travellers, students, and businesspeople by improving the connection between Patna and Ranchi.
According to reports, the Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express will reduce travel time between the two locations by around one hour and twenty-five minutes.
