Power outage in the Mumbai’s Bandra: Santa Cruz and Khar also affected

On Wednesday night, the power went out in several parts of Mumbai, including Khar, Santacruz, and the posh Bandra. The blackouts were reported from the city’s western rural areas. The blackout happened because of a technical snag in the power distribution system and it will take some time to restore the power supply.

“We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers in pockets of Santacruz and Khar West. The interruption due to cable faults was restored to a majority of customers within 30 minutes by tireless efforts our power Warriors. Due care was taken to ensure no interruption is faced by critical establishments,” this statement was released by an official of Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd.

Due to tripping in the 400KV substation at Padgha in April of last year, the electricity supply in some parts of Mumbai and areas like Thane, Mulund, Ambarnath, Badlapur, and Dombivali was disrupted. The officials were able to restore the power supply.

In May, there were many areas in Mumbai where blackouts were brought about by what was named a “specialised issue”. The blackout came amid a progression of disturbances in the power supply looked at by the city amid an extreme deficiency of power that constrained the state discom MSEDCL to start load-shedding in many areas of Maharashtra.

Bandra, Khar, Kurla, Santacruz and Dadar reported complete blackout for more than 15 minutes.

“We have been facing power interruption for 3 hrs in Santacruz West, Mumbai. No one at the 24×7 customer care is relying on calls or messages. Pathetic customer service harassing customers at this hour of the day,” a Twitter user said.
