Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) is taking a sustainable step towards preserving the natural water bodies in the twin-cities.

After rejuvenating 10 natural ponds, the civic administration is now focusing on reviving eight dry ponds in the region.

The project is aimed at restoring the natural ecosystem, recharging groundwater, and creating a sustainable environment for the community.

To ensure that the project is carried out effectively, the civic administration has roped in an environment expert to prepare a detailed rejuvenation plan.

This plan will be presented before Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) for technical approval.

The project is expected to receive 100% funding from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).

The rejuvenation process will involve excavation work, groundwater recharge, purification, and cultivation of greenery around the water bodies.

The civic administration also plans to oxygenate the pond water and create a natural ecosystem by evolving food chains.

Additionally, fountains will be installed to add visual appeal to the ponds and increase water movement.

The project will be initiated in two ponds initially, and the process will start taking shape over the next few weeks.

The civic administration plans to replicate the project model in other ponds based on its success and feedback.

The rejuvenation process will not only beautify the water bodies but also provide a sustainable environment for the local communities.

MBMC’s initiative to revive and rejuvenate the natural water bodies in the twin cities is a significant step towards sustainable development.

The project aims to restore the natural ecosystem and create a sustainable environment for the community.

With effective planning and execution, the project is expected to create a positive impact on the environment and the local communities.
