Saket Bridge Repairs Completed on Mumbai-Nashik Highway, Relief from Traffic Congestion Expected

On Sunday night, the Saket Bridge repairs on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway were finished. Automobiles may experience less congestion once the renovations are finished. A portion of the iron joint on the bridge’s walkway sprang loose a few days ago. Therefore, the dislodged area had begun to be repaired by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). Due to this modification, motorists in Thane and Bhiwandi had to suffer through heavy traffic.

Saket Bridge is crucial for Mumbai-Nashik Highway traffic.

Saket Bridge is crucial for Mumbai-Nashik Highway traffic. This bridge conducts a lot of traffic headed for the JNPT port in Nashik, Gujarat, and Uran. There is a lot of light car traffic as well.

The bridge’s joint came loose on Tuesday night. The MSRDC started working on this bridge’s repairs right away. The traffic police here were releasing traffic in a one-way style. This resulted in traffic gridlock in the cities of Thane and Bhiwandi.

A reputable source determined that the issue was brought on by a fault with a piece of the bearings under a 4m by 7m slab that was a crucial link connecting the two cantilever arms of the bridge that span the creek. These bearings are essential for giving the road surface a cushioning effect and making driving more comfortable.

The MSRDC had written to the Thane Traffic Police a few days prior. It was stated that maintaining significant traffic on this bridge is risky. As a result, heavy vehicle traffic was also detoured onto the Eastern Motorway. The repairs to this bridge were finished last Sunday night. As a result, Thane Traffic Police has chosen to keep things going the same way they were. After the Saket Bridge was finished, there was a huge relief from traffic.

There is a chance to get relief from Thane’s traffic congestion if the Saket Bridge is finished.

The lanes were thoroughly inspected and given the seal of approval for safe operation by MSRDC experts, according to the authorities.

The current pause in traffic, which upset commuters, happened last week when a problem with one of the spans that gracefully crossed the creek became apparent. Heavy vehicular traffic travelling from Mumbai and Ghodbunder Road to Nashik or JNPT was forced to reroute via Airoli as lighter vehicles clung to a single lane as a result of the abrupt closure.

The Eastern Express highway and Ghodbunder road experienced severe congestion as a result of this unanticipated change in traffic flow, frustrating many commuters.
