“With its box office revenues, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is setting new standards for the Hindi film industry. The film’s first-day earnings of Rs 75 crore were a record-breaking sum. And, after earning Rs 53 crore on the second day, the Atlee-directed film made history yet again on the third day, earning Rs 74.50 crore at the domestic box office”, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The film’s domestic net collection now stands at Rs. 202.73 crore.
The film grossed Rs 66 crore in Hindi, Rs 5 crore in Tamil, and Rs 3.5 crore in Telugu on the third day. Jawan had an evening show occupancy percentage of 71.05%, which jumped to 81.60% at night. Although Atlee’s film has drawn considerable interest in Tamil and Telugu areas, the majority of the film’s revenues have come from Hindi-speaking regions.
“Jawan has grossed Rs 384.69 crore at the global box office in just three days”, according to the film’s production firm, Red Chillies Entertainment.
“Jawan has emerged as the year’s best Hindi opener. This record was previously held by Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which grossed Rs. 57 crore on its first day. Jawan has set a new milestone by raising Rs 200 crore in three days. Pathaan accomplished this in four days, while Gadar 2 accomplished it in five days”, they added further.
Jawan has come to be known as the year’s best Hindi opener. This record was previously held by Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which grossed Rs. 57 crore on its first day. Jawan has set a new milestone by raising Rs 200 crore in three days. Pathaan accomplished this in four days, while Gadar 2 accomplished it in five days.
Shah Rukh Khan has been out of the spotlight for a few years, having not appeared in a prominent role since 2018’s Zero. When he made his comeback with Pathaan, the audience greeted him with open arms, and Jawan’s success proves that SRK fans were eager to see him on film again.
Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan’s Thursday release, had a fantastic first weekend at the box office. The Atlee-directed film had the highest opening day in Hindi cinema history, grossing Rs 129.6 crore and Rs 75 crore, respectively, on its first day.
And on day two, the film maintained its rousing performance.
Despite a 30% drop from its first day, Jawan managed to gross over Rs 45 crore net on Friday, taking its two-day total to Rs 110 crore. Despite the revenue reduction, Jawan plans to ramp up the pace throughout the first weekend. Pathaan, SRK’s most recent film, grossed Rs 160 crore in its first three days.
According to Box Office India, “Jawan will easily surpass Pathaan on Saturday by grossing at least Rs 50 crore”.
If Jawan can maintain its momentum over the weekend, it will aim to end its first weekend with a take of between Rs 235 and 240 crore nett. The Hindi version of the film earned more than Rs 65 crore on its first day at the Indian box office. The SRK-starring flick has now become the largest Hindi opening film of all time.
Pathaan previously made Rs 55 crore on its first day of release.
“Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, and Aaliyah Qureshi are among the supporting cast members who assist SRK’s hero in the pan-Indian drama.”
“Jawan” made its theatrical debut on September 7. Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming flick “Jawan” appears to be doing well so far. The film is said to have made more than 50 crore rupees. Given the amount of time remaining, the film’s advance booking stats may outperform SRK’s previous release, “Pathaan.”
According to sources, “Jawan” has earned Rs 30.50 crore in the country, with earnings from abroad contributing to the total. With that, it has barely topped “Pathaan’s” advance gross earnings in India, which were around Rs 32 crores. Will ‘Jawan’ outperform ‘Pathan’ in terms of pre-release numbers and go down in history? We can only wait and watch!
In an exclusive interview, trade analyst Akshaye Rathi estimated that Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” will earn a “bare minimum” of Rs 75 crore in net box office receipts across India (including Hindi and Tamil) on Day 1. Furthermore, he stated that while “Pathaan” made Rs. 543.05 crore in India, “Jawan” is expected to earn Rs. 400 crore in its first weekend.
Before Jawan’s release, trade analysts and industry insiders expected the Shah Rukh Khan film’s first weekend box office triumph. Girish Johar, a producer and industry insider, estimated a $100 million global launch for Jawan.
“The film may very well top Pathaan’s day-one domestic market statistics and end up with an India total of Rs 60 crore,” he said.
Manobala Vijayabalan tweeted, “Jawan hits half a century at the global box office even before release.” The foreign market recorded 32.47 crore in advance sales on Day 1, while India reported $2.25 million. The total sum made around the world was 51.17 crore. Shah Rukh Khan outsold Pathaan’s first-day advance booking in India by 32 crore.
Furthermore, he added that “Jawan has sold 3,91,000 tickets to date” only at multiplexes. On Tuesday, it was announced that the film had sold over 7 lakh tickets in India.
“On Friday, filmmaker Atlee’s Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan added another gigantic sum to its net domestic sales after setting the record for the biggest-ever opening in Hindi film history, “according to a market tracker.
“Jawan earned Rs 53 crore on day two”, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, “which is almost the same as SRK’s previous film, Pathaan.”
Pathaan had the largest opening day in Hindi movie history until Jawan exceeded it by nearly 20% on Thursday. On day one, the blockbuster action picture earned Rs 74 crore across all languages in India, breaking Pathaan’s previous record of Rs 57 crore. In India, the film’s two-day nett total is Rs 127 crore, including an estimated Rs 53 crore on Friday.
Jawan, SRK’s first pan-Indian film, is also available in Tamil and Telugu dubbing. The film also stars South Indian actresses Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, who play the protagonist’s love interest and adversary, respectively.
