Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the much-awaited Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Mumbai Metro Line 3 Phase 1 today (October 5, 2024).
Of the total 33.5-km underground corridor, only a 12.44-km segment between Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and Aarey will be inaugurated in Phase 1. This corridor is underground, a first for Mumbai, and includes 27 stations, 26 underground and one at grade. However, as part of phase 1, only 10 stations will be operational after the inauguration.
Metro Line 3 Phase 1 comprises 10 stations, with nine trains doing 96 daily trips. As per earlier media briefing, the metro line 3 services will be accessible from 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM on weekdays and 8:30 AM on weekends. The fares are expected to range from Rs. 10 to Rs. 50.
Additionally, Modi will erect the foundation stone for the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension, which will connect Anand Nagar in Thane to Chheda Nagar in Mumbai. This initiative, which will enable uninterrupted connectivity between Thane and south Mumbai, will incur an expenditure of Rs 3,310 crore.
Further, The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for Phase-1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project. According to the announcement, the Rs 2250 crore initiative includes the development of primary arterial roads, bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and integrated utility infrastructure.
At noon, Modi will start many initiatives worth about Rs 23,300 crore in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry at Washim. Following prayers at Jagdamba Mata Temple in Poharadevi and tributes at the “samadhis” of Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj, the Prime Minister will also open the “Banjara Virasat Museum” in honour of the rich legacy of the Banjara community.
Additionally, he will erect the foundation stone for the Thane Municipal Corporation complex, which is planned to be built at a cost of approximately Rs 700 crore. A centrally located facility will consist of the majority of municipal offices, which will be advantageous to the residents of Thane.
In accordance with his pledge to empower farmers, Modi would distribute the 18th instalment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, amounting to around Rs 20,000 crore, to around 9.4 crore farmers during the event in Washim.
The total payments disbursed to farmers under PM-KISAN will be approximately Rs 3.45 lakh billion. According to the announcement, he will also inaugurate the fifth instalment of the NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana and allocate Rs 2,000 crore.
The Prime Minister would allocate the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) to more than 7,500 initiatives, with a total value of Rs 1,920 crore.
With a total revenue of over Rs 1,300 crore, he will dedicate 9,200 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) to the country. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Unified Genomic Chip for livestock and indigenous sex-sorted semen technology. This program seeks to enhance the accessibility of sex-sorted semen at a reasonable price for farmers, aiming to decrease the cost by approximately Rs 200 for each dose.
The Unified Genomic Chip, GAUCHIP for indigenous cattle and MAHISHCHIP for buffaloes, has been created alongside genotyping services. The adoption of genomic selection enables the early identification of young, high-quality bulls, as reported by the release. Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate five solar parks with a cumulative capacity of 19 MW in Maharashtra under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0.
Throughout the session, he would also recognise recipients of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, as stated in the announcement.
