Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to inaugurate the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple in Sector 23, traffic police in Kharghar have set up extensive traffic diversions in advance.
At Sector 23, PM Narendra Modi will officially open the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple.
“On January 15, certain routes in Kharghar will be off-limits to cars and locations will have signs reading ‘No Parking.'” Also, Tirupati Kakade, deputy commissioner of police (traffic department), stated that “the traffic department has advised the public to use alternate routes.”
The official notification states that “some of the roads will only be open to VIP cars, police cars, emergency services as well as for those who are attending the event.” These include the route between Gate No. 1 and Gate No. 2 of the ISKCON temple, the road that connects Gurudwara Chowk to J. Kumar Circle via B.D. Somani School and both of the lanes of the road from Ove Gaon Police Chowki to J. Kumar Circle. It will be strictly restricted for any other vehicle to enter these roadways other than the VIPs.
Other routes
The traffic department has also listed the following alternate routes to make sure that the commuters have the least amount of inconvenience or any traffic jam:
1. Vehicles can turn right at Prashant Corner on their way from Ove Gaon Police Chowki to J. Kumar Circle and from Prashant Corner to Ove Gaon Police Chowki.
2. Green Heritage Chowk is the turning point for cars heading from Shilp Chowk to J. Kumar Circle or Ove Gaon Police Chowki.
3. From Green Heritage Chowk, vehicles from Gramvikas Bhavan can turn left to get to J. Kumar Circle or Ove Gaon Police Chowki via B.D. Somani School.
4. Vehicles can turn right at Gramvikas Bhavan from Central Park Metro Station to J. Kumar Circle or Ove Gaon Police Chowki.
5. Vehicles from J. Kumar Circle and Ove Gaon Chowk can go to Gurudwara, then turn left at Gramvikas Bhavan.
No Parking Areas
These following locations will be marked as no parking zones in order to control traffic jams:
1. Hiranandani Bridge Junction to Ove Gaon Chowk, Ove Gaon Police Chowki, Gurudwara, Gramvikas Bhavan, and Utsav Chowk.
2. ISKCON Temple Gate No. 1, Bhagwati Green Cut, Corporate Central Park, Sector 29, Ove Gaon Police Chowki to Ove Cricket Ground (Helipad), and the event site.
3. The Gramvikas Bhavan to Central Park and Green Heritage Metro Station.
J. Kumar Circle to Green Heritage, both lanes.
“Fire department vehicles, police vehicles, ambulances as well as any other vehicle that are associated with essential services are not included in these restrictions,” Kakade said. “We kindly ask the public to cooperate and use the other routes”, he added.
