Update on Mumbai Metro Line 3 Project: 81.3% Completion

The Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, is a major public transport project in the city, spanning over 33.5 kilometers. According to a recent progress update by the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), the overall completion of the Aqua Line project has reached 81.3%. Let’s take a closer look at the progress made in different phases and parameters.

Phase 1 of the Aqua Line project runs from Aarey to BKC. As of April 2023, the progress in this phase has reached 87%, with rapid completion of station work, track work, and other critical parameters. The civil work is already complete, and station construction is over 90% complete.

Phase 2 of the Aqua Line project runs from BKC to Cuff Parade. As of April 2023, the progress in this phase has reached 76.8%, with critical parameters such as OCS, track work, and station construction progressing well. The civil work in Phase 2 is also nearing completion.

The overall progress of the Aqua Line project is quite impressive, with 81.3% of the project already completed. The civil work is complete, and station construction is over 90% complete. Track work is more than 54% complete, and OCS work is over 51% complete. Tunneling work is already 100% complete, and car shed work is almost 54% complete.

The Aqua Line project comprises 27 stations, and the progress of their construction is highly promising. Phase 1 stations are reported to be over 90% complete, with Phase 2 stations over 86% complete.

The MMRCL has made remarkable progress on the Aqua Line project, with Phase 1- 87% complete and Phase 2 – 76.8% complete. The Aqua Line is expected to be a valuable addition to Mumbai’s public transport network, reducing traffic congestion on the roads and providing a safe, comfortable, and eco-friendly mode of transportation.
