Nagpur will soon be connected to Pune and Mumbai by the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains. These trains will increase rail traffic in Maharashtra. As the newly designated Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Nagpur, Vinayak Garg accepted this development by saying that the Central Railway’s Nagpur division has filed a proposal for this service with the Railway Board. The idea is currently under consideration with the goal of raising passenger connections on these chaotic roads.
By mail train, the trip from Nagpur to Mumbai takes around 16 hours at the present time but with superfast options it takes approximately 12 to 13 hours. An alternative that is even faster is the Duronto Express, which takes around 11 to 12 hours for the trip to Mumbai.
There are now just a few train services available from Nagpur to Pune. The Humsafar Express operates once a week, while the Nagpur-Pune Superfast Express and Garib Rath Express run three times every week. Passengers depend on the Hatia-Pune Superfast Express and the Azad Hind Express. Festivals and other periods of high demand for travel make things worse.
There are just two trains on the Nagpur-Mumbai route
The Vidarbha Express
The Sevagram Express
Which means that passengers are forced to wait longer.
According to the Hindustan Times story, Garg stated that Nagpur is an important junction in India’s railway system with more than 125 trains departing from the city every single day. “
It is expected that the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will have included the following features:
- Convenient reclining berths
- Advanced signaling systems and other advanced safety features
- CCTV surveillance for extra safety
- Modern spaces with improved ventilation and lighting
- Toilets with bio-vacuums for better hygiene
The trip from Nagpur to Pune can take just under three hours instead of currently taking twelve to sixteen hours, while the trip from Nagpur to Mumbai will take around ten hours.
Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will much improve travel standards because of their modernized sleeper berths, better interiors and advanced safety features. On these congested roads, more trains are expected to result in shorter wait times and more passenger availability.
The project is presently being reviewed by the Indian Railway Board.
Vande Bharat trains have a reputation for their innovative features, which put efficiency and safety first while reducing off travel time. These sleeper trains are going to give much-needed relief because of the increase in demand on the Nagpur-Pune line.
