“As a part of maintenance activity of tracks, Grant Road and Mumbai Central Station will be blocked for 13 hours from 10 pm to 11 am on Saturday, February 8, 2025 and Sunday, February 9, 2025”, ANI reported, citing Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek.
From 10 p.m. on Saturday until 11 a.m. on Sunday, the block is going to impact train service on the fast lines between Churchgate to Mumbai Central. The fast-track local trains will be redirected to the slow-track at the time of the block. Some trains can get canceled and others are expected to be delayed at Dadar and Bandra stations.
Travelers are advised to make appropriate arrangements for travel.
Western Railways had earlier planned a three-day block from January 24 to 26 that started at 11 p.m. and concluded around 8:30 a.m. “The block caused significant inconvenience for passengers traveling between 5:30 am and 6:45 am. The block was scheduled to construct a bridge between Bandra and Mahim,” reported ANI.
More than 80 pairs of suburban trains will be canceled during the block time. Suburban train operations will be seriously affected by the blockage. On Saturday evening, 13 pairs of suburban trains will be canceled and then on Sunday, more than 70 pairs of suburban trains are expected to cancel. A few number of trains from Bandra and Dadar stations that are headed for Churchgate will be reversed or short-terminated.
