With Atlee’s “Jawan,” Shah Rukh Khan is prepared to rule the big screens once more this year. People throughout the country are anxiously awaiting the premiere of the movie due to the intense excitement that it has already attracted. According to recent reports, “Jawan’s” booking total has already surpassed Rs 50 crore. It remains to be seen if the movie will surpass the early sales of SRK’s most recent release, “Pathaan.”
Jawan, the latest movie starring Shah Rukh Khan, has reportedly earned Rs. 50 crore so far.
The movie is expected to have a national gross of Rs 30.50 crore, which would put it just shy of SRK’s previous movie, Pathaan, which had an advance total of Rs 32 crore.
The movie “Jawan” will debut on September 7 in theatres.
The upcoming movie Jawan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan, appears to have made a respectable amount of money so far. The movie has reportedly made more than Rs. 50 crore. Given that there is still some time, the movie’s booking numbers may surpass the earnings of SRK’s previous release, “Pathaan.”
According to reports, “Jawan” has made Rs 30.50 crore nationwide, with the international profit contributing to the total. With that, it is only a few million short of surpassing “Pathaan’s” advance gross earnings in India, which were roughly Rs 32 crores. Will ‘Jawan’ make history by surpassing ‘Pathaan’s’ pre-release numbers? We’ll just have to wait and see!
In an exclusive interview, trade expert Akshaye Rathi estimated that Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” will gross a “bare minimum” of Rs 75 crore in net box office revenue in India (Hindi and Tamil inclusive) on Day 1. In addition, he stated that while “Pathaan” made Rs. 543.05 crore in India, “Jawan” is anticipated to reach Rs. 400 crore on its first weekend alone.
Before Jawan’s release, trade analysts and business insiders gave their forecasts for the Shah Rukh Khan movie’s opening weekend box office performance. Producer and movie industry expert Girish Johar forecasts a ₹100-crore global debut for Jawan.
In the domestic market, the movie may easily surpass Pathaan’s day-one numbers and end up with an Indian total of Rs 60 crore, he continued.
“Breaking: Jawan hits half a century even before release at the global box office,” Manobala Vijayabalan tweeted. “Day 1 advance sales were $2.25 million in reported sales for India and 32.47 crore for overseas. 51.17 crores were earned globally overall. Shah Rukh Khan outsold Pathaan’s opening day booking in India by 32 crore”.
Additionally, he mentioned that just at multiplexes, “Jawan has sold 3,91,000 tickets to date. On Tuesday, it was previously reported that the movie had sold over 7 lakh tickets in India”.
“Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan joins the historic top five films for presale records at multiplex theatres with 3,91,000 tickets”, Manobala Vijayabalan stated in a further tweet on Wednesday. “Baahubali 2 had the sixth-highest Day 1 advance at national multiplexes with 6,50,000. 5.56,000 in Pathaan. Chapter 2 of KGF: 5,000,000 War: 4,10,000. Jawan- 3,91,000. Thugs of Hindostan: 3,46,000. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: 3,40,000. Bharat: 3,16,000. Sultan: 3,10,000. Dangal: 3,05,000.”
On September 7, it will be available in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, Yogi Babu, and Ridhi Dogra are among the notable actors who appear in Jawan. Red Chillies Entertainment is in charge of producing it under Atlee’s direction.
Shah Rukh has been busy attending events in Chennai and Dubai as part of the movie’s promotion. Additionally, he has visited numerous temples across the nation to ask for blessings.
India’s movie theatres are packed with people after almost three years. The year has been successful for the Hindi cinema industry, beginning with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. People have returned to the genre because of films like Gadar 2, Satyaprem Ki Katha, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, OMG 2, and even minor ones like Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.
Shah Rukh plays the lead character in Atlee’s Jawan. The movie appears to be a vigilante drama where SRK’s character and his group of gals are battling for the nation. Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, two well-known actors from South Indian cinema, also appear in the movie.
Shah Rukh is reaching out to the southern region with Jawan, an audience he has never catered to previously. In his opinion, the actor is currently in the best stage of his career, and Girish Johar is convinced that Jawan will help him accomplish his goals. “Whatever Shah Rukh was intended to achieve with this particular film, he will realise it by infiltrating the hearts of hardcore South Indian film fanatics as well,” he said.
According to film critic and movie tracker Rajasekar, the buzz about SRK’s Jawan in Tamil Nadu is on par with that of a local star. “Atlee, who has provided several hits with Vijay here, is the reason it feels that way. The movie has had a respectable debut, even in second-tier areas like Tirunelveli, according to the booking. For Hindi films, the best viewing places are typically in cities like Chennai, Chengalpattu, and Coimbatore. However, there is a positive buzz about Jawan in other locations as well, which is encouraging. In comparison to other Hindi films released so far, the buzz is much better even in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. I believe Jawan might be the best Hindi movie.”
Jawan is 90% Tamil, with SRK being the sole exception. However, reviews of the trailer have been conflicting here. 400 theatres around the state will readily screen it when it opens. It will surpass all prior benchmarks set by Hindi films with Tamil dubbing, including Krish, Padmavat, and Dangal. According to box office receipts, it will surpass all other Hindi films in Tamil Nadu, said Ramesh Bala.
Girish Johar further disclosed that the roughly 30 single-screen theatres in the Hindi Belt that had been closed due to the pandemic have reopened in response to the buzz surrounding Jawan. “I am pretty confident that this is a big breather for the industry and the fraternity as a whole,” he declared. The movie is also anticipated to benefit from the 3-day holiday in Delhi because of the G20 summit.
