At stations and other locations for the Mumbai metro train project, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has invited bids to install rooftop solar power installations with a combined capacity of 7.1 MW.
The project’s goal is to use solar energy for the auxiliary and traction power needs of the stations and export any extra to the grid. The project will use the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model, which enables developers to own the installed solar panels and only charge customers for the energy produced.
Rooftop solar system design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning will all fall within the purview of the winning bidder. Additionally, they must offer complete operations and maintenance (O&M) services for 25 years. A tender fee of 3,000 and security of 13,87,500 must be provided by bidders.
A rooftop solar project with a capacity of at least 2.84 MW and a grid-connected solar project with a capacity of at least 3.55 MW that was finished within the last ten years are both required of bidders with experience in establishing and executing solar power plants.
Requests for bids for 7.1 MW rooftop solar power projects at Mumbai metro train stations and other locations have been made by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
The site survey, investigation, design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems are all included in the scope of work under the tender, per the tender requirements. The project will use the RESCO concept (renewable energy service business). The successful bidder must also offer complete operations and maintenance services for 25 years.
The station’s traction and auxiliary systems will be run on the solar energy produced. Any extra solar power produced will be connected to the grid.
They must submit applications for all of the available spaces at the chosen venues. For each station or depot, a rooftop project’s size could range from 100 kW to 800 kW or more. The deadline for proposal submission is May 24, 2023.
